Activity Log (HR)

Edit

What this guide covers

The Activity Log (People > Human Resources > Activity Log) is a read-only audit trail of who changed what across HR, attendance and leave. Use it to answer "who did this, and when?" - it doesn't change anything itself.

Who can open it: the Activity Log report permission (HR_ACTIVITY_LOG_REPORT). The Payroll audit permission (PAYROLL_AUDIT) also opens it from the menu. The page header carries the chip "Leave · Attendance · HR · Schedules" - the four areas it covers.

What it shows

A chronological list of HR-relevant events, newest first. Each row has these columns:

  • Time — the date and time of the action.

  • User — the person (or System, for automated steps) who made the change. This is the actor.

  • Employee — the employee the event is about (the subject), so you can follow one person's history. Shown as "—" when the event has no single subject.

  • Module — which area the event belongs to (Leave, Attendance, HR, Schedules).

  • Action — what happened (e.g. a leave request decided, an attendance day authorised or recalculated, a profile or position change, a schedule change).

  • Ref — the reference the event points at (a request number, a date, a record id).

  • Description — a short summary of the change, with a smaller line of extra detail where the event recorded any.

Using the screen

  • Type in the search box ("Search Reference or Detail...") to find a reference or a word in the description.

  • Pick a date range ("Select Date Range") to focus on a period.

  • Filter by actor ("Any actor" dropdown) to see what one person did.

  • Filter by employee ("Any employee" dropdown) to see everything that happened to one person.

  • Filter by module ("All Modules" dropdown) to narrow the type of event.

  • Use the clear-filters button to reset.

When new events arrive while you are on the page, a pill appears saying how many new activities there are. Click it to refresh the list.

Good to know

  • It's read-only - a record of what already happened, not a place to make changes. To act on something, open the relevant screen (e.g. the employee record, Manage hours, or Leave Approval).

  • Some events have no single subject (e.g. a bulk reconciliation run) and appear without an employee.

  • The same table is used by other activity logs in myWork. The Employee column and employee filter only appear here, on the HR-scoped version.

  • Disciplinary Report — the whole picture before acting - one employee's whole disciplinary picture.

  • HR Portal - what currently needs attention across the workforce, and the launchpad for the rest of HR.

  • Human Resources (overview) - the rest of the HR area.
