Activity Log (HR)
What this guide covers
The Activity Log (People ? Human Resources ? Activity Log) is a read-only audit trail of who changed what across HR, attendance and leave. Use it to answer "who did this, and when?" - it doesn't change anything itself.
Who can open it: the Activity Log report permission (
HR_ACTIVITY_LOG_REPORT).
What it shows
A chronological list of HR-relevant events. Each row tells you:
- When - the date and time of the action.
- Who (actor) - the person (or System, for automated steps) who made the change.
- Subject - the employee the event is about (so you can follow one person's history).
- Action - what happened (e.g. a leave request decided, an attendance day authorised or recalculated, a profile or position change, a schedule change).
- Summary - a short description of the change.
The events it covers span four areas: Leave requests, Attendance, HR management (employee/profile/position changes), and Custom schedules.
Using the screen
- Filter by date range to focus on a period.
- Filter by area (Leave / Attendance / HR management / Custom schedule) to narrow the type of event.
- Filter by employee to see everything that happened to one person.
Good to know
- It's read-only - a record of what already happened, not a place to make changes. To act on something, open the relevant screen (e.g. the employee record, Manage hours, or Leave Approval).
- Some events have no single subject (e.g. a bulk reconciliation run) and appear without an employee.
