Human Resources (overview)

What this area is

People ? Human Resources is where you set up the organisation structure, manage employee records, keep an eye on the workforce, and handle people leaving. This page lists each screen in the area and links to its how-to guide - it mirrors what you see under Human Resources in the menu.

Who can open it: every screen here is permission-gated - you only see the ones your role allows (e.g. HR read/write, the HR Health report permission, the Disciplinary report permission, the Attendance report permission). If a screen below isn't in your menu, you don't hold its permission.

The screens

The Human Resources area: Set up the basics (Organisation setup; Leave setup and balances), Manage people (Employees and onboarding; Org chart), Keep an eye out (HR Health dashboard; Disciplinary Report; Activity Log; Employee hours for HR), and When someone leaves (Pending Gear Returns). Each screen is permission-gated.
Menu item What the screen does Guide
HR Health A single dashboard of "what needs attention" across the workforce. HR Health dashboard
Employee Directory / Employee Table Browse everyone, open a record, or add a new joiner with the wizard. Add & manage employees
HR Settings Define departments, job positions, organizations, document types - and leave types, plans & balances. HR Settings - organisation setupHR Settings - leave types, plans & balances
Organigram The company-wide org chart, with edit mode for HR. The full org chart (HR view)
Disciplinary Report One employee's whole picture (incidents, escalations, strikes, KPI) before any formal action. Disciplinary Report
Activity Log A filterable audit trail of who changed what across HR, attendance and leave. Activity Log
Employee hours for HR Read-only payroll-prep hours per person (worked, authorised, overtime, shortfall, leave). Employee hours for HR
Offboarding ? Pending Gear Returns Reconcile a leaver's issued gear before their last day. Pending Gear Returns

Two deeper sets of guides also live in this area:

  • The Employee Record - the employee page and each of its tabs (Personal Info, Documents, Job History, Salary, Attendance & Shifts, Leave Balances, Offboarding.). Plus Departments: build the structure and put people in them.
  • Incidents - the Incident Log (QIL): how a disciplinary incident works, raising one, the formal process & Sanction Lock, the employee's side, and the incident dashboard.

Good to know

  • New here? Start with HR Settings ? organisation setup to build departments and positions, then Add & manage employees to onboard people.
  • The reports are read-only (HR Health, Disciplinary Report, Activity Log, Employee hours); the records and settings screens are where data changes.
  • Sensitive content. Employee records, pay, and disciplinary history are confidential - open them only when your role and task require it.
  • Managers - the line-manager screens (Manage hours / schedules / leave) for one's own team.
  • Attendance and Payroll - the other People areas.
  • Attendance status field definitionsLeave request statuses field definitions - the glossaries.
