Starter Provisioning

Edit

People ▸ Starter Provisioning. Needs HR write permission.

When somebody joins, the equipment their role requires should already be waiting. This screen turns a job position's required kit into a checklist for the new person.

Where the list comes from

Each job position carries a set of required equipment — a product or a whole category, with a quantity. Edit it on the position itself.

The starter's outstanding list is worked out, never stored: required, minus whatever has already been issued or is on its way. It cannot drift, because there is nothing separate to drift from.

Steps

  1. A new employee is onboarded. Their checklist opens automatically, and a dashboard tile appears.
  2. Open People ▸ Starter Provisioning and pick the starter.
  3. For anything you do not have, acquire it through My Store into your own inventory.
  4. Issue each item to the starter from this screen.
  5. Where the category asks for a signature, the starter signs before receiving — not after.

When they leave

The termination gear audit blocks an employee's exit while tracked equipment is still signed out to them. Tagged units cannot be quietly consumed at exit: they must be returned, or written off as lost or damaged behind the usual two-person gate.

Known gap

Only onboarding opens a checklist. A leaver's checklist is never closed by termination, so it sits in the queue indefinitely, and somebody re-employed gets no checklist at all. Every other employment change passes this screen by. Worth knowing before you trust the queue as a to-do list.
