My Profile

Edit

What this page is for

My Profile is each employee's self-service hub on mywork24. Personal details, banking info for payroll, HR documents, app downloads, network passwords, API tokens, two-factor sign-in and external-app tokens all live here. Other people in HR can see most of these fields too; this page is the one place you control them without filing a ticket.

Where to find it

Click your avatar in the top-right of any mywork24 page → My Profile. The page opens on the "Personal Details" tab with the other tabs across the top.

Using My Profile: the tabs

Personal Details

"Full Name" and "Email / Username" are read-only (HR manages those). You edit:

  • "Nationality", "Date of Birth" and "Gender".
  • Whether you hold a South African ID, then either your "SA ID Number" or your "Passport / Work Permit" details.
  • "Cell Number" and an optional "Backup Cell Number".
  • "Current Residential Address" (free text — street, suburb, city, postal code; address suggestions appear when Google Maps is configured).
  • The "Emergency Contact (Next of Kin)" fieldset — "Name", "Relationship" and "Phone Number".

A read-only "Work Information" fieldset shows your initial start date for reference.

Click "Save Personal Details" at the bottom of the tab to commit. The form validates required fields before saving.

Banking & Compliance

Your banking details are encrypted and must be verified by Finance before they can be used for payment. The tab itself shows only a masked summary of your account, a "Verification" status tag from Finance, and whether a "Bank confirmation letter" is "On file" or "Not uploaded".

To view or change the details, click "Show / edit banking details". You re-enter your myWork password in the challenge, and the "Banking details" dialog opens with "Bank Name", "Account Type" ("Cheque / Current", "Savings" or "Transmission"), "Account Number" and "Branch Code", plus "Upload letter" or "Replace letter" for your bank confirmation letter and "Download current letter" once one is on file. Click "Save banking details" in the dialog to commit. A change goes back to Finance for verification.

The rest of the tab covers compliance: "Income Tax Number (SARS)", "Medical Aid Scheme & Number" and the POPIA consent checkbox, which is required — you can't save without it. Click "Save Compliance Details" to commit those three.

My Documents

Upload personal HR documents (ID copy, tax certificate, qualifications, etc.). Pick a "Document Type", optionally an "Expiry Date (if applicable)", then drag the file in or click "Select & Upload". Accepted formats are PDF, JPG and PNG. Uploaded items show up in the table below the form and you can download them back at any time.

Apps

Downloads for the company's own apps. "myChat24 for Android" is an internal app that is not on the Google Play Store — you install the .apk directly on your phone by following the "How to install" steps on the tab. A desktop installer for myChat24 is offered in the same way. Holders of the ADMIN permission additionally see a "Publish a new version (admin)" section for uploading a new APK or installer.

Network Passwords

Three small fieldsets, all independent of your mywork password:

  • "Wifi (Radius)" — click "Show / change wifi password". You re-enter your myWork password to unlock the dialog, then you can copy the "Current wifi password" or set a "New wifi password (optional)" and click "Save new password".
  • "Email (ISPConfig)" — enter a "New email password" and click "Set Email Password" for your IMAP/POP3/SMTP mailbox and the webmail portal.
  • "TrueNAS (SMB / file shares)" — enter a "New TrueNAS password" and click "Set TrueNAS Password" for mounting the company file shares.

Each one updates only that system; your mywork sign-in is unaffected.

My Integrations

Where you paste bearer tokens generated by other apps so agents acting on your behalf can sign in for you — for example a personal access token from kb-app for an AI assistant that publishes articles.

  • Click "Reveal integrations" and re-enter your myWork password.
  • Use "Add integration" to choose the "Service" (kb-app, or "Other…" with a "Custom name"), the "App URL", and the "Token", then click "Add".
  • The "Test" button on each row sends a sample request with the token — a green message means it worked.

Closing the dialog clears the visible token values from the page. Re-confirm your password to view them again.

My API Tokens

The reverse of My Integrations: personal access tokens that let other applications or an AI agent call the myWork API as you.

  • Click "Manage tokens". In the "Create token" fieldset give it a "Name", pick a "Scope" ("Full (read + write)" or "Read-only") and optionally an expiry, then click "Create". The full token value is shown once — copy it straight away.
  • Existing tokens list their last use and expiry, with "Rotate" and "Revoke" actions. Tick "Active only" to hide expired or revoked ones.
  • The "Connect an AI agent (MCP)" fieldset gives you a copy-ready setup block ("Copy setup text" or "Copy secure config") to paste into an MCP-capable agent so it reaches myWork as you. A Read-only token is the safest choice for an agent.

AI Assistant

Shown only if you hold the CHAT_AI_ASSISTANT permission. "Manage assistant" lets you enable your assistant, give it a name and open a chat with it.

Security & 2FA

If 2FA is already on, you see a green "Protected" panel. If not, under "Setup Two-Factor Authentication":

  1. Install Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator on your phone.
  2. Click "Start Setup" — mywork shows a QR code.
  3. Scan it with your authenticator app and type the 6-digit code into the field.
  4. Click "Verify & Activate".

From the next login onward, mywork will ask for the rolling 6-digit code in addition to your password.

Tips

  • One tab at a time. Each tab has its own Save button — switching tabs without saving discards the edits in the previous one.
  • Network passwords are reset, not retrieved. Only the wifi one supports reveal (gated by your myWork password); email and TrueNAS just set a new value.
  • My Integrations is for inbound tokens (credentials other apps generated for you). My API Tokens is for outbound ones (tokens you generate here for other apps to use). Tokens for kb-app itself are still generated inside kb-app.
