How a scan becomes attendance (clocking points)
What this guide covers
Since 3 November 2026 myWork reads the face terminals at the doors itself. HikCentral, which used to pass the scans on, is switched off. This guide explains how a scan becomes a clock-in or a clock-out, what a clocking point is, and what to check when a scan did not count.
How it flows
Terminals and clocking points
A clocking point is a named group of terminals that count as one place for attendance:
- Warehouse Main - the two production terminals: Warehouse Main IN (every scan is a clock-in) and Warehouse Main OUT (every scan is a clock-out).
- Server Room - the Server Room Door. The person presses check-in or check-out on its screen; if they press nothing, myWork takes the opposite of their last scan.
Each employee has a clocking point on their employee page (Attendance & Shifts tab). Only scans at that clocking point's terminals count as working time. A scan anywhere else still opens the door, and shows on the day as won't count.
The rules myWork applies
- Double scan - the same person on the same terminal within a minute is one scan, not two.
- Wrong button - on the Server Room Door, if they press the other button within a minute, the later choice counts.
- Forgot to clock out - if their last clock-in is more than 14 hours old, the next scan is a new clock-in, not a clock-out. The earlier day keeps its missing clock-out.
- About two minutes - a scan becomes attendance about two minutes after it happens, so a wrong button put right is taken into account.
- Worker ID - the ID on the terminal must match the employee's worker ID in HR. If it does not, myWork waits up to 24 hours for HR to fix it, then drops the scan.
When a scan did not count
- Check the person - open their employee page, Attendance & Shifts tab, and click Check terminals on the Scan terminals card. It tells you if they are missing from a terminal their clocking point needs, or have no face on it.
- Check the clocking point - a scan at a terminal outside their clocking point shows as won't count. If it was real work, use Count anyway on the day (see Fix a wrong late arrival: the clocking point changed mid-day).
- Check the worker ID - System Settings > Scan terminals shows how many scans had an unknown worker ID.
- Still stuck - ask whoever has the Scan terminals permission to check that the terminal answers (Test on System Settings > Scan terminals).
Good to know
- The Hikvision Sync Logs and Failed Sync Records tabs on Schedule Management are HikCentral's history; nothing new arrives there.
- A scan's time comes from the terminal's own clock. myWork checks every terminal's clock each morning at 06:25 and shows it on System Settings > Scan terminals.
- Clocked in now on System Settings > Scan terminals lists everyone whose last scan in the past 14 hours was a clock-in.
