Finance ▸ Asset Commissioning. Needs the Fixed Asset Admin permission.
Approving a request gives a unit an identity. It does not put a sticker on anything. This queue is where somebody takes physical responsibility for that — prints the label, sticks it on, and says where the unit ended up.
It is a separate screen on purpose: the person who approves a purchase is rarely the person who walks it to the workshop.
Using Asset Commissioning
Asset Commissioning is the queue of units that have an identity but no sticker yet.
Why a separate "tagged" step exists
Nothing else in the system proves a sticker went on. The in-service date is stamped at registration, a staging line only exists in one particular case, and a print job records no link to the unit — a print is not evidence. Tagging is a claim about the physical world, so only a person can make it. That is the whole reason for the button.
The two lists
Awaiting a tag — newly registered units nobody has confirmed a sticker on. Grouped by the request they came from, so a batch prints and places together. Each batch offers Take for tagging and Tag & place.
Staged — still to be placed — someone is holding these for distribution. They are not in service yet and the replacement clock has not started; it starts when the unit is placed. Each row offers Place it.
Steps
Open Finance ▸ Asset Commissioning.
Choose a batch and click Tag & place. The Tag and place wizard opens.
Units — pick the ones you have in front of you.
Take & print — the units move to your bench and you print each tag. Nothing watches the printer; the next step is your word that it happened.
Confirm — tick The printed tag is on each unit listed above. This is the step nothing else can do for you.
Where it goes — Room, Person, or Already there. Apply to all sets every unit at once.
Review and Finish.
Things worth knowing
Taking units for tagging is its own button. Picking up five monitors survives you closing the dialog.
First write wins. A unit is tagged once. There is no un-tag.
Nothing forces this. An untagged unit can still be moved and issued. The queue, the dashboard tile and the "needs tag" chip on the register are reminders, not gates.
A batch row can name two different units. Where it is now comes from the first unit and Held by from the first unit that has a holder, so the summary line can mix them. Open the row to see the truth. Known, cosmetic.
