What this guide covers
Sometimes a day shows a red Late arrival badge (or too few hours) even though the employee clocked in on time. The usual cause is simple: their clocking terminal was changed partway through the day, so some of their real clock-ins were recorded at a different reader and the system left them out. This guide shows how to spot it and fix it in a few clicks.
Who can do this: the same managers / HR who open Manage hours or the Weekly Hour Report. You fix it inside the Edit Daily Attendance window for that one day.
Why it happens (in plain terms)
Each employee is set to clock at one terminal (for example Warehouse Main or Server Room). The system only counts the clock-ins made at that terminal.
If someone changes the employee's terminal during the day, the clock-ins they already made at the old terminal no longer match the new setting - so they are ignored. The day then looks wrong (a late start, or missing hours) even though the timeline clearly shows the person was there.
How to spot it
- Open the day: on Manage hours (or the Weekly Hour Report), use the 3-dot menu -> Edit to open Edit Daily Attendance.
- Look for a yellow note near the top: "This day's clocking terminal was ...".
- In the list of punches, some rows carry an amber ⚠ won't count tag. Those are the clock-ins from the other terminal that are being left out.
How to fix it
- Click Count anyway next to each flagged punch - or click Count all to include them all at once.
- Each one turns green ✓ counted, and the day recalculates immediately. The hours become correct and the wrong "Late arrival" disappears.
- That is all - you do not need to press Save for this; it is saved the moment you click.
What "Count anyway" does (and why it is safe)
- It keeps the punch's real terminal name - the record stays honest about where the person actually clocked.
- It marks the punch as manually counted, which means it is always counted from now on - even if the day is recalculated later, it will not be dropped again.
- It is written to the day's Adjustment History with your name, so there is a full trail.
When NOT to use it
- If a punch is genuinely wrong or a duplicate, do not count it - remove it with the red bin button instead.
- If a terminal was simply mislabelled, click the Device / Source cell and correct the name.
