Every task has its own chat channel - it's the task's living record. Lifecycle updates (started, finished, rated.) post there automatically, and you can discuss the work right alongside them.
Open a task's chat
From the task page, click the comments icon next to the task number, or go to the Activity tab and press Open task chat. The conversation opens in the chat panel.
Who's kept in the loop
The assignee and the manager are subscribed automatically, so they see every update. If a task is reassigned, the new people are subscribed too. Sub-task chatter also mirrors one level up into the parent task's channel (prefixed ?), so a manager watching the parent sees what's happening underneath.
The subscribe star
Next to the task number is a star that controls how much this channel notifies you. Click it to cycle:
- off (grey outline) ? All (everything) ? System-only (just lifecycle updates) ? Mute ? back to off.
It's the only subscribe control - there's no separate "subscribe" button.
Message a person, or share the task
- The speech-bubble icon next to someone's name opens a direct 1:1 chat with them (you won't see it next to your own name).
- The share icon by the task number lets you send the task to a colleague - they get a link in chat. (They can only open it if they're allowed to see it.)
Next: Doing a task - start, record output, finish.
